Beware Of The Upfront Fee
There are a number of “career management” companies out there who demand a large upfront fee to get you the inside track on lucrative jobs. Although some customers have benefitted, many have handed over thousands of pounds for little more than a list of likely prospects and a tweak of their CV. Some may also provide advice on networking and whilst all this can be helpful, you are likely to be able to achieve the same thing by shopping around for yourself at a fraction of the cost.
When using any sort of agency do your homework first and if they ask you for money upfront in exchange for a job guarantee or anything like a sure bet, think very carefully. Do not pass on your credit card details under any circumstances.
Remember, if it seems too good to be true it probably is.
